Community Book Discussion: How to be an Antiracist

In his best-selling book How to Be an Antiracist, Ibram X. Kendi suggests a framework for embarking on Antiracist work. Kendi says that not racist is not the opposite of racist. We are called to be antiracist. To be antiracist is a state of intention in which we examine systemic racism and how it is manifest in our lives.

The Portland Public School's Board of Education recently read and discussed this important book. We invite all members of the community to read How to Be an Antiracist and join the School Board in a two-part discussion of the book. The discussion will be remote by Zoom Webinar and the Board members will serve as discussion leaders.

This event took place on October 19th, 2020. See below for a recording of the session and resources!
