Racism's Impact on Children

The American Association of Pediatrics recently released a policy statement on the impact of racism on the overall health of children. Doctor Jacqueline Dougé, a co-author of the statement and a pediatrician in Howard County, MD, will discuss the research that led to this statement. How early do children notice differences? When children witness events of racism at school, on the streets, or on television, what is the effect? The evidence suggests that such witnessing creates stress and anxiety in all children. What can we, as parents, teachers, and concerned community members do about it?  How can we talk with our children about race? Join Dr. Dougé in this
important discussion.
